Chee Wei TAY receives Top Local Soundtrack at the 21st COMPASS Music Awards Presentation

Chee Wei received one of the top awards at the prestigious 21st COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore) awards presentation. The Singapore-born film score composer received the “Top Soundtrack” award for his score on Animal Planet’s “Mekong – Soul of a River”, a four-part documentary series that explores the people and wildlife that depend upon Asia's most enigmatic river for their survival.

This is not the first time Chee Wei has received the COMPASS awards. In 2013, he received the COMPASS – “Wings of Excellence” award for his outstanding overseas achievements in music. In 2010, He received the “COMPASS Young Composer of the Year” and “Top soundtrack” awards for his work on PBS’ (American television) documentary, “NOVA : Ocean Animal Emergency”.

The annual COMPASS Awards recognizes achievements in the Singapore music industry. Awards are given to outstanding individuals who have excelled in the various music genres.
